If you are a homeowner or business owner in Charlotte, you may know us as experts in the fight against mosquitos. At the Mosquito Squad, we are focused on ridding communities of this annoying and dangerous insect. In fact, we have protected more than 100,000 properties so that families can enjoy summertime activities in their backyards—and your backyard may be among them.
You may not know, however, that the Mosquito Squad has established a relationship with nonprofit, global health organization Malaria No More because the situation is serious: More than 250 million Africans become infected with the mosquito-borne disease each year. Sadly, greater than 1,000 African children die from malaria every day, most of them five years old and younger.
With the help of our customers, Mosquito Squad has raised over $350,000 since 2012 in the campaign to fight the bite. The goal of our collaboration with Malaria No More is simple: End the deaths caused by malaria in Africa. A percentage of every sale we make is donated to this effort, and the contributions go to support mosquito-fighting efforts in Cameroon. These include disseminating educational information to communities and school children about the following:
Since 2000, the effort has distributed one billion mosquito nets in Africa, and the Mosquito Squad proudly participates in this operation. Provided to Africans through the conscientious work of various health organizations and global corporations, mosquito netting has been instrumental in dramatically reducing the transmission of malaria.
Perhaps you are familiar with the effective mosquito treatments provided by our team in the Charlotte area. After all, a mosquito bite can ruin your day, and control is essential. Fortunately, malaria was eradicated in the United States decades ago, but it remains a matter of life and death in Africa.
